Profile

Craig focuses his practice on representing high-tech companies in technology transactions, licensing, business and technology alliances, intellectual property strategies, and all aspects of patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret and unfair competition laws. His experience includes:

• Strong negotiation and documentation skills derived from experience with more than 500 transactions in technology licensing, IP transfers, technology partnerships and alliances, software licenses, e-commerce agreements, buy-sell and supply arrangements, foundry agreements, litigation settlements, investment transactions and acquisitions.
• Both start-up and public-company in-house legal and business development experience in strategic legal counseling, negotiations, business transactions, planning, licensing and venture capital investments.
• Strong skills in legal, technical and financial due diligence, evaluating licensing and investment opportunities and negotiating deal terms.
• Significant patent work preparing and prosecuting US and international patents for computer hardware, software, communications, business, e-commerce, microprocessor, DSP, and digital/analog circuit inventions.

Prior to founding Dillon & Yudell, Craig practiced intellectual property law at a top Texas law firm. Previous to that, Mr. Yudell served as vice president of licensing and general counsel for a semiconductor intellectual property start-up, where he implemented its IP licensing strategy and managed all of the company’s licensing and other legal matters. Prior to joining the start-up, Mr. Yudell was with a large semiconductor manufacturer in Austin, where he served as General and Intellectual Property Counsel for its $2 billion Networking and Computing group, and later held an executive management position in business development with responsibility for investments and strategic licensing for an $8 billion wireless and semiconductor business. Prior to completing his law degree, Mr. Yudell worked as a design and research engineer in computer, semiconductor and optoelectronic technologies.
