John
Kelly’s practice consists of the acquisition and
protection of intellectual property rights, including
patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. Mr.
Kelly is primarily engaged in drafting and prosecuting
patent and trademark applications. His practice also
includes assisting clients with contractual protection
of intellectual property, such as nondisclosure, joint
development, and licensing agreements.
Mr. Kelly is a graduate of South Texas College of Law in
Houston, Texas, where he was a recipient of the Dean’s
Merit Scholarship. Prior to attending law school, Mr.
Kelly was employed as a design engineer with REMEC,
Inc., a California based wireless communications
company. As an engineering student, Mr. Kelly worked at
Apple Computer and SBC Communications (now AT&T) and was
a project manager for a senior design project endowed by
Raytheon.
Mr. Kelly comes to the firm from a developmental stage
company engaged in developing and commercializing a new
MEMS-based flat panel display technology, where he
served as in-house counsel.
