Mr. Dillon’s practice focuses on patent, trademark
and general intellectual property matters primarily in
the electronics and software industries. His client list
includes IBM, Nortel Networks as well as numerous other
high-tech firms, small companies and individual
inventors. With 25 years experience as an intellectual
property lawyer, Mr. Dillon has written more than 800
patent applications and prosecuted several thousand
patents.
Mr. Dillon was
appointed to a 3-year term (2003-2006) by the Secretary
of Commerce as one of nine voting members of the Patent
Public Advisory Committee of the United States Patent
Office.
In Chambers & Partners’ America’s Leading
Business Lawyers 2004, Mr. Dillon was named among Texas’
leading intellectual property attorneys and applauded in
it by contributing clients and colleagues for his
“ability to grasp new technologies and inventions at an
amazing speed.” In 2000, Texas Lawyer tapped
Mr. Dillon as one of the “Go-To Counsel for Cutting Edge
Companies in Texas.” The Intellectual Property Law
Section of the State Bar of Texas presented him with the
1999-2000 Chair Award for “outstanding contributions to
the practice of patent law.”
Mr. Dillon is an AV-rated lawyer licensed to practice
law in Texas and an inventor of U.S. Patent No.
5,891,021. He is also a prolific author and frequent speaker
on the subject of patent law and intellectual property
related industry issues.
